Tidings Everyone!
I know I've been woefully absent from this blog for the past few weeks. But along with all the holidays suddenly sneaking up on me, a rather pesky flu bug managed to breach the sterile confines of the Burnt Lumpia Worldwide Headquarters.
Although we were lucky that our little one was able to elude any illness, my wife and I were each out of commission for days at a time. And despite my huge increase in ginger tea consumption, no amount of hot salabat could fend off the cooties wreaking havoc in my body. Not good times.
While all is fine and well now, I wanted to quickly stick my head into the blogosphere and check in with everyone. I will definitely be back to posting here on the regular very soon, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here are a couple of holiday-themed posts from the archives to tide you over:
Lastly, I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas--or Maligayang Pasko, as they say in the Philippines.
Maligayang Pasko!
"Arroz by any other name" - I love your food puns! 8-D
Sincerely hope that you & your wife are well on the way to full recuperation! In the meantime, thanks for these Christmas Past recipes. Maligayan Paska at Manigong Bagong Taon!

Other on the other coast you got a mention in The Washington Post. It made me crave my lola’s lumpia.

Very Merry Christmas to you and your family. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and I totally understand taking some well-deserved time off to just enjoy the holiday and just eat the food instead of photographing and writing about it!! Cheers to you in the new year!!
